Each year, the Leadership Grapevine class chooses a community project that they must complete before graduating the program. The Leadership Grapevine Class of 2026 has chosen to collect funds to restock the life jackets on Grapevine Lake.
The Loan a Life Jacket stations have been put in place by the Grapevine Fire Department in an effort to prevent drowning incidents. This program encourages Grapevine Lake visitors to borrow a life jacket from one of the life jacket trees that have been put in place at various lake park locations.
All life jackets are to be worn while near or in the water and returned prior to leaving Grapevine Lake. The Grapevine Fire Department put the life jacket stations in place in memory of James McKenzie, a Grapevine firefighter/paramedic, and rescue diver who drowned at Grapevine Lake while off duty.
BORROW. SURVIVE. RETURN!
