Speaker for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake: Bradley W. Smith, MD

Bradley W. Smith, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of all sports-related injuries. His expertise includes nonoperative and operative (open and arthroscopic) treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle disorders. He is focused on joint preservation and treatment of arthritis in young active patients with current regenerative medicine, cartilage repair, and cartilage transplant techniques, as well as biologic alternatives to surgery. He also performs joint replacement for advanced arthritis of the knee and shoulder. Most importantly, he is committed to helping his patients get over their injuries or pain so they can get back to living active lifestyles.

Dr. Smith graduated with High Honor from Michigan State University, where he majored in physiology. He attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. While there, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He performed his orthopedic surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General.

Dr. Smith completed his sports medicine fellowship training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. There he received additional training in minimally invasive and advanced arthroscopic techniques for the treatment of sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. During his fellowship, Dr. Smith served as an assistant team physician for several professional and collegiate sports teams, including the New York Jets, New York Islanders, and Manhattanville College.

Dr. Smith is a candidate member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, and playing hockey.
