The Novus Academy is seeking compassionate, adaptable teachers to work with students who have learning differences, including ADHD, dyslexia, and autism. Our students benefit from structure, consistency, and a teacher who understands that every child learns differently.
 
Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, differentiated instruction

  • Maintain a structured and predictable classroom environment

  • Support both academic growth and student confidence

  • Collaborate closely with a supportive, team-oriented staff

  • Ensure continuity of instruction through clear planning and communication

  • Foster a welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and curiosity among students.

  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and clear expectations, ensuring a respectful learning environment.

  • Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress, and behavioral observations to support ongoing development and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with learning differences (including autism preferred)

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Ability to provide structure while remaining flexible

  • Clear, proactive communication skills

  • Dependable with strong follow-through and sense of responsibility

  • Teaching certification preferred. Will consider if you are in the process of obtaining your teaching certification.

  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.

  • Experience working with children of various needs, including special education and early intervention programs.

  • Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and childcare best practices.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
