Events and Fundraising Manager

General Description
Responsible for Serving Our Seniors (SOS) activities related to event management/fundraising.  The position will lead and execute all fundraising efforts while working directly with community individuals and organizations, committees, volunteers, BOD and staff in support of those events.
 
Supervision

  • Reports to Executive Director
  • Works directly with Operations Director on staff support of fundraising events
  • Coordinates, directs and executes all necessary activities to cover every aspect of fundraising events
  • Works directly with Marketing Coordinator on fundraising communications
 
Qualifications:
  • BS or BA from an accredited university, preferred
  • Minimum two years of large scale, non-profit, fundraising, event planning experience
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail 
  • Good communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Familiar with fundraising software platforms such as OneCause/Bidpal
  • Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint 
              
Hours: 40 hours/week


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and project manage SOS fundraising campaigns and events:   
             - Annual Festival of Friends Gala (Oct)
             - Annual “Friends” – Benevon campaign (Feb)
             -  North Texas Day of Giving (Sept)
             -  Annual Golf Tournament (May)
             - Other fundraising as determined
  • Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors
  • Assist with brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for SOS to meet or surpass budget targets
  • Donor care and maintenance (maintain key records, provide strategic communications and appropriate recognition)
  • Evaluate success of previous fundraising events
  • Leverage social media to target audiences to improve fundraising activities
  • Represent SOS at designated Chamber memberships and community network opportunities that support SOS fundraising objectives
  • Assist Executive Director in support of community obligations as needed
